The Foundation supports the work of a number of organisations including:
Heriot Watt University Scholarship Programme
The Kapital Foundation is delighted to support Heriot Watt University with their ambitious Undergraduate Leadership Scholarship programme.
The aim of the Undergraduate Leadership Scholarships is two-fold: to attract the most highly qualified students possible and to produce skilled graduates who are not only prepared for employment, but also ready to accept the challenges of the twenty first century.
The Undergraduate Leadership Scholarships are directed at academically excellent students who have also shown some form of leadership skills or initiative in their non academic life. This could be in undertaking “appropriate” work experience, working within their community, volunteer work, sporting achievement, demanding hobbies, travelling, or awards with organisations such as the Duke of Edinburgh scheme
and others.
Working with the School of the Built Environment, the first student to be sponsored by The Kapital Foundation will commence in the 2008 autumn intake.
Quote from Vice Chancellor, Professor Anton Muscatelli:
“Heriot Watt are delighted to have the support of The Kapital Foundation for our Undergraduate Leadership Scholarships and we hope that their participation will entice other benefactors to work with us”
The Vine Trust ![]()
The Vine Trust is an international interdenominational charity with a vision to see communities transformed. It works to bring opportunity, health and hope to disadvantaged communities and marginalized people with a particular concern for vulnerable children.
Our support for this Scottish based charity will allow us to see with great clarity the leverage effect of our investment.
During the summer of 2006 we committed £37,000 to the production costs of a television series filming the work of The Vine Trust in Peru. The series "Amazon Heartbeat" was aired on national tv in late 2007 and is due to be distributed internationally in 2008. Work on a follow-up series is also being undertaken in 2008.

The programme not only showcase the work of The Trust but also act as a platform for fundraising and for securing volunteers to help out with the medical programme.
These are very tangible effects of our initial investment.

CHAS is the Scottish charity committed to the provision of children's hospice services in Scotland, working exclusively with children with life limiting conditions and their families.
During the Spring of 2006 The Kapital Foundation held its Spring Regatta at Largs on the River Clyde in aid of CHAS.
Thanks to the generosity of those who took part, proceeds raised from the event exceeded £20,000.
The Childrens Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS - www.chas.org.uk) have recently opened their second hospice, Robin House at Balloch, following in the successful footsteps of Rachel House at Kinross.
Whilst much of the work of CHAS is in assisting with the terminally ill, they also offer great support to the families who have often to come to terms with tragic circumstances.
